Welcome to the website of the Newcastle upon Tyne Central and East Circuit of the Methodist Church.

We are a compact Circuit of fourteen churches with a strong ecumenical flavour seeking to be open and responsive to the Spirit of God, alive in our witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and passionate about social justice.

Our work is increasingly diverse as we seek to explore ministry ‘outside of the box’ and so, alongside our local church communities, we operate The Holy Biscuit, a community arts project, Hand in Hand, a befriending service for the elderly or housebound and a youth centre.  A number of our churches run Messy Church whilst others have student and young adult groups catering for the large student population in Newcastle.

The Circuit reflects the diversity of the NE region from wealthy suburbs to more deprived areas and there is a strong commitment to using resources for the benefit of the whole people of God and especially to support the most vulnerable members of our society in areas of deprivation.

This is an exciting time for the Circuit as we explore future ministry with Pioneer Connexions, supporting young leaders on the Ignite training course, and as we continue to prayerfully seek the guidance and inspiration of God for future developments.

I hope that you find what you are looking for on our website but, if not, please do call or email and we will do our best to assist in whatever way we can.
